What a wonderful place. After three long days on the 127 yard sale we took refuge at this beautiful hidden cabin. The surroundings were wonderful. It’s fully equipped with everything we needed, surrounded by nature. It was perfect for my daughter on our girls weekend and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I booked this trip last minute, and I mean the very last minute, for my husband’s birthday. Cathleen was very responsive to my request and ensured a slightly panicked wife that we would be able to stay at the Southern Star! The cabin is absolutely amazing! What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get! We actually slept half the night out in the swing it was so beautiful. We loved everything about the cabin and plan to return in the winter! Thank you Cathleen for being a fabulous hostess!

We absolutely love Southern Star. The porch and hot tub were where we spent most of our time just enjoying the quiet and peace of the surroundings. There are other cabins around, but they were quiet and we still felt isolated, which is what we wanted. Beautiful place.

Beautiful cabin in a peaceful setting! Saw several deer outside the screened in porch. In a great location close to DeSoto Park and the federal preserve. Perfect place for a quiet weekend away.

Great place to stay. My family and I needed a place to go for the weekend to get away from the storms and we had an amazing time. We had a great time. Spend most of the time on the amazing porch playing games that they provided.

I literally booked around lunch time on Friday for a last minute weekend trip. Cathleen was super fast to respond and gave us great recommendations including Granny’s D fried pies at the Farmers Market…yummy! Beautiful surroundings and so peaceful. The screened back porch with fire table and tv (we used for music) was amazing. Perfect for relaxation and soul searching!

Went for a ladies getaway and the cabin was perfect for the 5 of us. Between Mentone and DeSoto State Park, only minutes from each place. Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your cabin.

This was the perfect place for our family of 8. It was close to many of the great places for hiking. The kids loved hanging out in the living room putting puzzles together and watching TV. The weather was not ideal but we still had an amazing time! I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone!
